Curious Music is pleased to announce the limited-edition vinyl and FLAC release of Buzzle by Tim Story.
In 2006, those who knew Tim Story as a craftsman of elegant, understated chamber music for post-moderns may have been in for a surprise with his latest release Buzzle. The creamy cello lines and hauntingly spare piano lines that listeners might have expected were certainly in short supply. But those who dove under the surface of Buzzle’s rich and seductive electronica found much that was familiar — and very Tim Story.
Story has a distinct sense of musical humor that manages to find its way onto a track or two of even his most somber and poignant work. In Buzzle, that quirky humor bubbles to the surface with regularity (as reflected in several of the track titles), relieving the dramatic tension produced by mysterious, indecipherable vocals and the curious electronic rhythms heard throughout the album. An almost subterranean thread linking these tracks is a smoky, lush abstraction that at times recalls the laconic existentialism of Portishead, Boards of Canada, and Amon Tobin. Buzzle is indeed atmospheric, enigmatic, and programmatic. But above all, it’s eminently listenable. All that devotees love Tim Story's work is still here in spades.
Originally issued in an extremely limited CD run in 2006, this first-ever vinyl release comes in a high-quality limited edition of 500 copies on double 180-gram Coke-bottle clear vinyl in a deluxe matte finish gatefold sleeve, featuring the photography of Mark Packo throughout. Also included is a high-resolution, numbered art print, signed by Story and Packo. An MP3 download is also included with the vinyl edition.
Buzzle is also available in pristine digital sound as a lossless FLAC DL.
Buzzle has been remastered by Tim Story and was pressed at Memphis Record Pressing in Memphis, Tennessee.

ABOUT TIM STORY
Hailed as "a true artist in the electronic medium" by Victory Review and "a master of electronic chamber music" by CD Review, Tim Story's work has garnered an international reputation for its haunting elegance and meticulous compositional detail. In addition to nine solo albums and many compilation appearances, Story's work has appeared on numerous television and film soundtracks including Caravan, a feature-length documentary from the production company of acclaimed Spanish film director Pedro Almodovar. Story's music has been nominated for a Grammy award (for 1988's Legend of Sleepy Hollow, a children's recording with Glenn Close), and a NAIRD "Best Album" award (for Beguiled). Also a noted producer, recent production credits include the legendary duo Cluster's final album Qua in 2010. Curious Music’s upcoming releases Second Sight by Kate St. John and Luxa by Harold Budd have each been remastered for vinyl by Story.
