We are beyond pleased to welcome Paris-based synthesist, composer, and musician Maria Teriaeva to the Curious Music family.
Our first collaboration will be the forthcoming reissue of Conservatory of Flowers as a very special limited edition—a meticulously crafted work where modular synthesis and organic instrumentation exist in perfect balance. Details coming soon.
Originally from Siberia, Maria first gained recognition with Focus (2017), her debut solo album recorded using the Buchla Easel. She expanded her approach on Conservatory of Flowers (2020), integrating the Buchla 200e system with strings and brass, resulting in a precise, structured interplay of electronic and acoustic elements.
In addition to her solo work, Maria has composed for film, created music for immersive installations, and participated in the Red Bull Music Academy(2015). A recipient of the Collège de France’s Pause program (2022–2023), she has also held a residency at École supérieure d’art d’Annecy Alpes (ESAAA) (2022–2023) and is a member of L’atelier des artistes en exil in France.
Her self-released album, Sayan - Savoie (February 2025), captures her emotional journey in exile, blending the Buchla synthesizer with guitar, electric organ, and vocoder.
